ABOUT US
The AAU team is by invitation only. Annual Tryouts are typically held in late April or early May. If you are interested in the AAU Program, please reach out to the front desk.
The
Copper level is the first introduction to competitive gymnastics. The focus is on learning basic techniques that will set them up for the foundational skills of gymnastics. Copper is intended to give beginners the opportunity to learn the competitive gymnastics environment! Through 2-3 competitions in their season, Copper is intended to give beginners the opportunity to learn the competitive gymnastics environment! These gymnasts train 3 hours per week.
The
Bronze level is the next step in foundational gymnastics. The focus is on practicing and polishing the basic skills for competition. The Bronze season includes around 6 competitions. These gymnasts train 5 hours per week.
The Silver level widens the base established in Bronze by adding more foundational skills. The focus is on building consistency in performing these skills with proper technique. The Silver season includes around 6 competitions and the athletes train 7 hours a week.
The
Gold level builds on the foundations established in previous levels. At this level, coaches choose skills that both fit the individual gymnast’s abilities as well as meet the Xcel requirements. The focus is on learning higher-level skills with proper technique and making them competition-ready. These athletes train 9 hours per week and compete in 6 competitions throughout the season.
The
Platinum level further progresses a gymnast’s skills. Coaches are again able to choose skills that will work best for the gymnast within the Xcel requirements. These athletes train 9 hours per week and compete in 6 competitions throughout the season.
Emma was a competitive gymnast for 9 years in both the Xcel and DP programs. She graduated from UNCW with a degree in Exercise Science and has been coaching for 6 years.

Ramiro was a competitive dancer for 8 years and was a competitive gymnast for 2 years. He has been coaching for the last 5 years, coaching both the Women’s AAU Team and Men’s Artistic Gymnastic Team.
